These Are My Dreams
“These Are My Dreams” is Stan’s first Studio Album,
recorded just as he was leaving the Army in 1991.
It has been extremely successful, with well over
half of the songs being covered by other artist’s
world wide. The title track won the converted Keith
Marsden Song Writing Competition in 2000 and has
just been recorded by Martyn Wyndham-Read. Other
tracks from this album have been recorded by well
known artists in Australia, France, Norway and the
United States. Skilfully produced by Kenny Speirs,
the album contains a number of his classic songs
including Alice, Days Like These, These Are My Dreams,
Across the Sea, Monuments Of Stone and A Soldier's
Goodbye. With superb arrangement and accompaniment
from a host of top musicians including Stewart Hardy
on Fiddle, Iain Lothian on Accordion and Tommy Roseburgh
on Piano, this is an album you will play over and
over again and well worth adding to your collection.

More Than Words
Stan’s current album “More Than Words” recorded
in 2005 has been highly acclaimed for its outstanding
quality at every level. A well thought out mixture
of unique new songs the likes of “Teaching Emily
To Count To Ten”, “All Is Quiet On The Water” and
the “The Olive And The Vine” along with some of
his previously unrecorded classics including “Sarajevo”,
recorded by Vin Garbutt, “No Regrets” and “Grace
Darling”. This excellent collection of songs, containing
many future classics, has been produced with skill
and restraint by Kenny Speirs of “Real Time”, recorded
by Tommy Roseburgh, with outstanding contributions
from some of the countries finest musicians. With
simply stunning Cello from Wendy Weatherby, wonderful
backing vocals from Judy Dinning and the multi-instrumental
talents of Stevie Lawrence. Described by Performing
Songwriter Magazine as “A triumph of a CD, each
track is stunningly good”, it is without doubt an
essential purchase, from an artist who is becoming
more and more talked about, listened to and having
his work recorded by others.

Along The Way
This is Stan's long awaited third studio album and
has been acclaimed as his best yet. Superbly produced
by Stevie Lawrence with Iain Anderson on Fiddle,
Wendy Weatherby on Cello, Iain Lowthian on Accordion,
Frazer Speirs on Harmonica, Tommy Roseburgh on Keyboards
and the multi-instrumental skills of Stevie Lawrence,
this really is an outstanding collection of songs,
sensitively arranged and not musical corrupted,
that you will listen to time and time again. As
you would expect from a writer of this quality,
it contains a number of what are sure to be future
classics. The monumental traditional sounds of “Whitby
Harbour”, which is already being played and covered
by some of the top musicians in the country, the
resounding story line and sadness of “All The Young
Soldiers”, the stunning musical arrangement of the
more politically motivated “Rolling River Farm”,
written with Mike Silver, the stunning classic lyrics
of “Songs For The Lonely” and the moving sentiments
of “Christmas Soldier and Michael And His Medals.
Add to this the upbeat rhythms of “Somewhere In
America” and “Easy Street” and you have an album
which contains something for everyone and will not
disappoint the listener. This is a varied and thoughtful
selection of songs from a writer who combines great
vocals with sensitive and well crafted lyrics. Superbly
supported by some of the best musicians in Scotland,
this is an exceptional album by any standard and
has that rarest of commodities found on CDs these
days, value for money in every track. .
