The Poet In Me – (A Review by Brian Hodge)

Recently I was on a train journey and able to listen to “The Poet In Me” uninterrupted. I thought it was the  best CD Stan has produced

In many CDs the weaker tracks are left to the end but tis was not the case on The Poet In Me which contains strong tracks throughout,

I particularly like The Poet In Me and Walking in My Fathers Footsteps which was of particular significance as I am trying to piece together some missing years in my fathers life which I could not find before he died and my mother passed away with dementia so could not hlp fill in the details.

Over the past few years many songs have been written about aspects of the First World War and I thought that The Bradford Pals and Weeping Willow Tree  are  two of the best.

The songs  Transportation Orders and Australia Bound build on previous songs with a focus on Australia.

Overall a great album and I’m looking forward to the next.
